Chapter II: The Suede of Cerbeus
As legends go no king was as dreaded as the Dark Lord Cerbeus, by nature Cerbeus was a slaver of the Desert of Ghan. It was by no coincidence that the stranger soon arrived in the village of Winel, on the outskirts of Ghan, not riding upon camel or horse as natural humans do, but on foot instead. The stranger arrived in Winel merely days after defeating the dragon of Havel Reach Forest, a journey unheard of without the usage of a horse or camel, a journey infact impossible even with a horse or camel. The slaves of Winel thought the stranger a deity as he passed through the clay and sand homes of their village towards the palace of Cerbeus, a regal stone monastery that depicted Cerbeus as a god amongst men. Cerberus’ guards stood at the gates to palace crossing their pikes as the stranger approached. The stranger looked at the two of them his blue eyes glimmering as he stared at them. The two guards soon dropped to ground quivering and shaking as if afflicted with madness upon gazing at the stranger, who walked past their cowering and quivering bodies and entered the palace of Cerbeus. The House Emblem of Cerbeus was the cycling war dogs, three hell hounds chasing eachother for eternity. Tapestries and flags dawning the emblem lined the inner courtyard of the palace. As the stranger hobbled towards the steps that lead into the main palace. Guards rushed at him one by one but none would land a strike as they would rush him, they would drop to the ground cowering in fear, stricken by madness and fear. The Stranger soon arrived at the top of the steps at the doors of the palace. Cerberus’ guards had barricaded the stone door, with the engravement of the hellhounds engraved upon it. The stranger merely shook his head in disappointment, before raising his staff towards the door, the winds ferociously began to swirl around the stranger as he pointed his staff towards the door. The bells of the palace soon began to ring one by one, as the slaves of the city all began to run to seek shelter. From around the village of Winel came waves of sands sweeping through the streets and towards the palace, from the parapets Cerbeus’ guards were attempting to seal the windows and blinds but were one by one being attacked by not just sand by spirits and gollum's made of sand that erupted from the sands throwing them from the towers to the ground, before infiltrating the towers. The gollums and sand spirits rushed up the steps to the stranger and rushed for the doors of the palace.
The Guards on the other side soon watched in fear as the uniforms and skeletal remains of their comrades were tied and chained used by the gollums and sand spirits as grappling hooks to pull the doors down. As they stood there afraid of the Stranger and the army of sand creatures, they dropped their weapons and surrendered as the stranger continued into the throne room. Upon entering the throne room, the stranger and his army of sand creatures was charged by the most loyal generals and guards under Cerbeus, who watched from his throne as they were torn to shreds by the sand creatures as the stranger soon came upon him.
Cerberus looked upon the stranger in fear “ i beg of you not to kill me, please i’ll do anything” begged Cerbeus, for the first time in his life afraid. The stranger looked upon Cerbeus, pleaded for his life, offering the stranger wealth, riches, even both men and women, but the stranger wanted something more personal. “ there is legend that your house are the keepers of the sacred suede of the underworld, an armored tunic that was crafted by the god of Death, that can hide any-being from hell hounds, give it to me!” ordered the stranger. Cerbeus nodded and lead the stranger through the palace to his family's treasure room where thousands of treasures from conquests of the past awaited them. Silks from the sieges of the Elvish Villages to the east, gold from the mines of the dwarves and armors from all races spread across the ground. At the center was a golden mannikin that upon it was draped the suede armored tunic. Cerbeus grabbed hold of the armored tunic and handed it to the stranger who thanked him kindly for it, turning his back on Cerbeus for a moment. Cerberus was waiting for this however and unsheathed his sword and in a slash attempted to kill the stranged, but it was of no avail. As he slashed through the stranger, the stranger fluttered like smoke, the blade and Cerbeus pass straight through him, as if the stranger was only an illusion or a specter.
Cerbeus dropped to his knees and begged forgiveness, but the stranger cackled, raising only his right hand, lifting Cerbeus off the ground by the throat with some invisible force and snapping his neck, and leaving him on the treasure room floor to rot. The Stranger through on the black suede and leather armored tunic and marched to the front of the palace, where he stood upon the top of the steps, bellow him in the courtyard, the Slaves of Winel erupted in simultaneous cheers for their liberator, before bowing to him as a god. Upon this moment The Stranger raised his staff and making him self louder with magic, mad a speech to the free slaves of Winel. A speech insite freedom, life and liberty, and not to take the gift he has given them for granted. As he walked down the steps the sand creatures faded out of existence and he was greeted by the free peoples of Winel with gifts many of which he turned down, the only things he accepted were a brown and black leather belt a symbol of his member of the free peoples of Winel and a map leading to a relic sacred to the peoples of the village.
